Joint victory in 2017 Mongol Derby

This year’s Mongol Derby, quoted to be the world’s longest and toughest horse race, has been jointly won by 29-year-old Ed Fernon, an Olympic pentathlete from Sydney, Australia, and 51-year-old Barry Armitage, a former professional sailor turned adventurer, from South Africa.

The Mongol Derby recreates Chinggis Khan’s ancient horse messenger system in epic fashion riding 1,000km across Mongolia on semi-wild horses. This year features 13 men and 29 women from eight countries who started on 9 August and the first riders are expected to finish on 18th August.

July turns into a busy month for Copa Chevaux in Brazil

During July, riders from all over Brazil had two races to choose from, both organised by Chevaux.
On Saturday 15 July is was an important day for the endurance riders living in the state of Paraná with the event held at Fazenda Capao Da Anta in Palmeira – PR. For the first time, Chevaux organised a race of its national championship in this region. Riders from different states came down and the CEN 80km saw ten starters, a number that we had not seen in this region for a long time.
