Al Hussein Wadi Rum International Endurance Ride – 14 November 2016

Wadi Rum, Jordan. On Monday 14 November 2016 the Royal Jordanian Equestrian Federation played host to a CEI1* 80km and a CEI 2* 120km event.

img_0806-1Under the watchful eye of HRH Princess Alia Al Hussein, who was present for the whole day, a total of 50 horse-and-rider pairs took part in this international event, marking the finale of the Jordan endurance season.

Nine riders started in the CEI2* 120km race and Ahmed Abu Shabab, riding Hamret Al Salt, finished the event at the top of the leaderboard.

In the CEI1* 80km a further nine riders crossed the starting line, with Mohammad Barakat and Halawet Sereza proving to be the strongest combination.

The number of starters in the qualifiers is proof that the sport of endurance riding is gaining traction in Jordan and becoming increasingly popular.
