The Cup of Russia at the Tersk Stud Novotersky

Tersk Stud, Novotersky, Russia. Sunday 28 May 2017. It was a place 500 meters above the sea level with a mountain-forest climate, similar to the climate of the middle Alps, sprinkling mineral water springs and extensive hilly grasslands that attracted Count Sergei Stroganov to create a stud farm at the foot of the picturesque Zmeika Mountain in 1898.


The backbone for this were 2 stallions and 9 mares brought from the journey through Syria and the North Arabian Desert.

Endurance World. A group of riders.d Tersk Stud NovoterskyIn its nearly 120-year history, the stud farm has produced a whole galaxy of outstanding horses. Kumir, Drug, Nakhodka, Valuevka, Persik, Nobby are among them.
Since the day of its foundation, the stud farm developed in the area of races and shows. Endurance races, which won in popularity all over the whole world, got the chiefs of the stud farm excited and they set up a department to train the Tersk Arabs.
Since 2013, the Tersk stud farm is one of the leading organizers of international competitions in the North Caucasus.
Endurance World Tersk Stud Novotersky. Emerging from the field.During these years, several major international competitions took place, in which horsemen from different regions of Russia, as well as from Asia and Europe participated.
Officials, athletes, and spectators like to attend competitions in the Tersk stud farm, because festive performances, a fair, a show of Arab horses and an auction of Arab horses are held on the eve of the competitions’ day.
This year, the Tersk Stud farm held the CEI3* 160km championship – the Cup of Russia. Besides that, there were CEIYJ1* 80km, CEI1* 80km, CEIYJ2* 120km and CEI2* 120 km.

Endurance World Tersk Stud Novotersky. Entering the finish59 riders from all over Russia came to participate in the competitions. They had to overcome difficult conditions due of torrential rains, but that was compensated with an interesting track through the most beautiful places of the reserve.
Sometimes you can meet wild deer, roe deer, wild boars, and partridges there. Hunting in the reserve is prohibited, that’s why animals are not afraid of people and graze peacefully near the passing riders.

There was only one participant in the CEI3*160 km who Ruslan Gekiev on Bars and finished with an average speed of 12.07 km/h.

Riding through the fields.The winner among juniors in the CEIYI2* 120km was Olga Samsonova on Braslet (12.47 km/h) and for the CEIYJ1* 80km victory was for Shulaeva Marina on Elbrus at a speed of 15.54 km/h whilst second place was for Batishcheva Ksenia on Nemo with 12.27 km/h.

In the senior classes winner in the CEI2* 120 km was Pankova Daria on Consul at a speed of 14.15 km/h followed by Nikolaeva Alisa on Sarmat at a speed of 12.35 km/h.
First place in the CEI1* 80km went to Bugaeva Olesya on Pogar (19.27 km/h), second was for Kalov Mukhamed on Elbrus (19.27 km/h) and third for Shokarov Aslan on Achilles at a speed of 17.58 km/h.
And the grand prize from the Tersk Stud farm for the best conditioned horse went to Pogar ridden, by Olesya Bugaeva to victory in the CEI 1* 80km. And that prize is the Arabian mare Agnia Tersk.
