Feldborg Ride – 25 March 2017

Spring was in the air at Feldborg Ride

Felborg, Denmark. Saturday 25 March 2017.

The Danish endurance season started beautifully at the Feldborg Ride. The many participating riders enjoyed the gorgeous Feldborg Forest with long, good tracks that offer perfect conditions for both horse and rider.

Even the weather was fine with comfortable temperatures for the horses and this was reflected in good average speeds by many participants.

There is always a good mood at Feldborg and this year it was very international as well with a total of 30 riders coming in from Sweden, Norway, Holland, and Germany with their assisting teams. All were helpful towards each other despite having travelled far to compete. This is generally seen in endurance riding.

On international level, CEI, there were two races with a CEI1* 80km CEI2* 120km and on national level, CEN, there was a 21, 42, 51 and 81km.

Everything was arranged and carried out beautifully by the always-cheerful vet and animal chiropractor Patricia Hass Pilborg, who also holds the Danish Championship in endurance riding.

CEI2* 120km was won by Dutch rider Fenne Koppenol on Nashan, with Glenn Tore Finstad from Norway on NA Tamir as number two. Third place went to Alison Van Gilst from Holland on Valesco. First and second places arrived one second apart with an average speed for both at 16.76 km/h. Number three, Dutch rider Alison Van Gilst on Valesco, also won Best Condition.

CEI1* 81km was won by Sweden’s Annelie Eriksson on King Peak, number two was Anne Wegner from Germany on Salamah Ibn Khazzan, and Anne Wegner also won Best Condition. Third place was won by Danish rider Niels Jørgen Møller Petersen on Silver. The average speed for the winner of this class was 19.27km/h.

CEN81km was won by Hanne Haagen Hansen on Ta Zeenah Ox with an average speed of 13.53km/h.
