Ecuador

Athlete presentation PAN AM Ecuador Hector Almedia AyalaName: Hector Almeida Ayala, senior rider
Age: 64 years old
Horse: Ladino (2003)
Trainer: Jorge Pimienta
Horse’s palmares: Uruguayan horse, who qualified in the Panam 2013. This horse finished 4 x 120km, 3 x 80km
Rider’s palmares: Hector finished 9 x 120km, 1 x 160km. National Champion of Ecuador Master Category 2009, 2010 and 2012. National Champion of Ecuador Elite Category 2014 and 2016. Also, good result as a capitan team of “Al Galope”, they got national championships in 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015.

Age: 17 years old
Horse: Huracan (2008)
Horse’s palmares: Uruguayan horse, got podium position 3 times in his career. Finished 3 x 80km and 3 x 120km.

Rider’s palmares: Elite Rider. Ecuador National Champion 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2016; National Junior Champion 2015; First place in South Carolina, Tyron Texas USA and in Colombia. Participated in the Young Rider World Championship in 2015.  Qualified in Dubai Crown Prince Race 2017.

Age: 56 years old
Horse: Salvador (2003)
Trainer: Luis Garcia (URU)
Horse’s palmares: Uruguayan horse, qualified in 2012 in 8th position, Pan American championship Pinamar, 2012. Winner of 1 x 80km. Qualified also in 4 x 120km.
Rider’s palmares: Participating in endurance since 2007. He was racing cars and bikes also. Is candidate for the 2017 Ecuador national Championship. Finished 6 x 120km and 1 x 80km, 2 of them in Uruguay and the rest in Ecuador.

Age: 54 years old
Horse: IFO El Kalifa (2008)
Trainer: Fernando Ospitaleche (URU)
Personal training: Training many days per week and rigorous diet.
Horse’s palmares: Uruguayan horse, who finished 1 x 80km and 3 x 120km.
Rider’s palmares: Mauricio was National Champion in Ecuador in 2012 and 2013.

Name: Manuela Jaramillo, young rider
Age: 15 years old
Horse: Pamperito (2008)
Trainer: Luis Garcia (URU)
Horse’s palmares: Finished 2 x 120km and 1 x 80km.
Rider’s palmares: She started with Vaulting, Jumping and now Endurance. National Champion in Novice Category in 2012 and 2014. Started to prepare to the PANAM last January and participated in 2 x 80km and 3 x 120km.

 

 

Guatemala

Athlete presentation PAN AM Guatemala Fernando Paiz.02Name: Fernando Paiz Larrave, senior rider
Age: 34 years old
Horse: Los Tordillos Nacho (2009)
Trainer: Sofia Garcia (URU)
Horse’s palmares: Qualified in 7 out of 8 races he did. 3 x 120km, 8 x 80km. Was 5th in 120km last June in Punta del Este.
Rider’s palmares: Elite Rider, Bronze medal winner by team Pan Am Championship Costa Azul, Uruguay, 2009. Qualified in the last WEC in Samorin. HH Sheikh Mohammed Cup and Tevis Cup Finisher.
