Perfect racing conditions in Haras La Perseverancia

Haras La Perseverancia, Costa Azul, Canelones, Uruguay. Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 November 2017. The 2017  Uruguayan endurance season is coming to an end and this was the eleventh out of twelve CEI endurance events.

Programmed on the agenda were races in CEI1* 80km and CEI2* 120km both in senior and junior categories.

Endurance World Haras La Perseverancia. Going for a good position.On Saturday, under pleasant weather, the CEI2* 120km was divided into 4 stages of 36.5km, 36.5km, 31.2km and a last loop of 16km. Winner of the senior category was Jorge Martinez – URU (S Shamah) followed by stable mate Pablo Roldan – URU (S Euphrates), Nicolas Abraham – URU (AA Impetuoso) finished third.

In the 120km junior race, we saw Teresa Sanchez – URU and Stefany Rogel – URU riding most of the entire event in same positions.  Eventually is was Teresa Sanchez (JLB Magnifico) crossing the finish line first, with Stefany Rogel (IFO Magera) in second place. Third podium place went to Paulina Berriel – URU (Dorshack) who smoothly is gathering points for to the FEI Young Rider Ranking.

Endurance World Haras La Perseverancia. Two juniors.Teresa was happy and told us: “JLB Magnifico won his third race in three months, he is a very easy horse to run because he knows everything there is to do, and he makes it perfect! I really enjoyed the race! I want to thank Leandro (Zubiaurre, the trainer), Fabricio (Folgar, JLB Magnifico owner) for entrusting me once again this champion horse and my family, especially my father, who supports me every race”

On Sunday, the CEI1* 80km was divided into three loops; stages of 33.5km, 31.2km and 16km.
In senior category the winner was Fernanda Villar – URU (Mansejon) and two of the horses under her training arrived along with her in second place Andres Martinez – URU (EM Viraro) and third place Federico Ferber – URU (EO Raquiki).

Endurance World Haras La Perseverancia. Lone rider.Fernanda Villar: “My idea was to have a calm race but the first stage was a little bumpy and I fell.  Luckily nothing happened to my horse. There was a crack in the trial covered with grass that we didn’t see. In the second loop without thinking we were already in the top places and in the last we galloped the three horses together and free from problems they finished very well and luckily with good recoveries.”

Junior category CEI1* was won by Ema Sanchez – URU (Ifo She Kadar) with a speed of 25.19km/h in the last loop.  She arrived holding hands with sister Teresa Sanchez – URU (Ayelen). The winner told us “In the last stage it was a complicated track as it was by the beach and very hot. The best part of the race was when I ran jointly with my sister who always supports me and helps me to be better and better in this sport.”

After this weekend in Haras La Perseverancia, the next race in Uruguay will be held in Punta Del Este on December 2nd. This will be the last opportunity for riders to earn points for the 2017 National Championship.
