Second race at Paulista Brazil marks a new record

Haras Endurance, Bragança Paulista Brazil. Friday 21 and Saturday 22 April 2017.
Haras Endurance, in Bragança Paulista, about 85km from the city of São Paulo, hosted the 17th edition of the most traditional Enduro race in America.

With great expectations, the best riders were present with their best horses, thus guaranteeing races full of emotions. This year, at the request of CBH (Confederação Brasileira de Hipismo) technical committee, the 120km event was composed of only four loops, one less than they are accustomed to see, making the competition even more technical.
The main reason was that in addition to the test being observatory and qualifying for the Pan American Championship, held in October this year in Uruguay, the Pan trail will have this structure of loops. Therefore, it was understood that it would be more interesting to observe the tests in an environment more similar to what awaits the competitors in Uruguay.

Endurance World Bragança Paulista. Competitors riding in the forest. The weather during the weekend greatly favoured everyone since previous races in March reached temperatures of 35°C. In fact, the cooler temperature even allowed new records of average speeds to be established.

The person responsible for the feat in Paulista Brazil was no other than the IEB (Instituto Enduro Brasil) athlete and promising rider, José Caio Frisoni Vaz Guimarães, who on the first day of the weekend became champion, as well as his horse, Cabo Frio CSM, to be announced as best condition in the CEI2* 120km for young riders. José completed the race in 06:08:57, with an average speed of 19.51km/h. The previous record belonged to André Vidiz with an average speed of 19.38km/h.

Luiz Felipe Pupo Galvão Rossi (Absolluto Ve) was in second position for half the race although he was never able to pose any threat and finished in third position. Second place went to Tiago Manetta B. De Lana (Nuri El Dinn Ret) a place he occupied after passing Luiz, and his biggest concern was to maintain his second place safe since the frontrunner was in full control.
They saw a more open race in the CEI2* 120km where positions were constantly changing and victory finally went to Andre Vidiz (Bonitão Endurance). He started the final loop in second position more than two minutes behind Pedro Stefani Marino (Kohelian Dominika P) but Pedro struggled in the final loop and had to let his contenders pass him and ultimately got vetted out for metabolic at the final vet check. Second place went to Antonio Marcelino Gomes Neto (Hermes Ve). Felipe De Azevedo Morgulis (Saiph Sbv) made an astonishing jump in the last kilometres going from sixth to third place.
Endurance World Bragança Paulista. A rider in full racing mood.Tiago Manetta B. De Lana (El Gazaal Dinn Ret) executed the perfect race in the CEIYJ1* 80km by going from fourth to the first place. Starting the final loop six minutes behind the leader, he managed to do the highest speed to hold the winner’s trophy at the finish. Tiago Esteves De Oliveira Cesar (Dubai El Lethif) was awarded second place at the finish. Third place went to Rodrigo Moreira Barreto (Suleiman Sbv).

Leading for the majority of the CEI1* 80km was Renato Moraes Salvador Silva (D Jok Py) and made it to the finish line but was vetted out for an irregular gait.
Joao Leonel Antocheski (Rg Krab) was not consistent but was first after starting the final loop in fifth position. Second place was for Pedro Stefani Marino (Shagya Li Endurance) who was third most of the race. The final podium place was for Aude Beurodouche Machado (Eksotika Rach) who worked her way through the ranking.

In the CEN 80km for the little riders, there was only one starter who luckily got qualified and that was Pedro Pupo Mastroroas (Mylla Bey Hvp).
On the second day, in addition to the races, there was the traditional Haras Endurance Auction, this time with two more Haras (breeding studs); Haras Stud Brasil and Haras SBV, who displayed great horses for potential buyers seeking new challenges and achievements.
The event was packed with activities, as well as new partners that were taking part in this event, such as Via Jap Mitsubishi and Clinica Menin, who will be with IEB in the next stages of the Paulista Brazil Championship.
